It's unfortunate Ecuador suffered such damage. I couldn't help but wonder if they reinforce their buildings. It looks like they could benefit from building one-story homes to prevent the building from total collapse. Iceland is adopting EUROCODE 8 in order to better protect it's citizens from hazards such as earthquakes. Your post was very well done. I have to agree, that picture of the crack formed in the road is impressive and unnerving. Regards, Paula
